As I wrap up the first six months of this new journey, I am reflecting on the many blessings, the people who have walked beside me, held my hand, let me cry, laugh, supported me while I sorted out what life would look like as I go forward, understood my meltdowns, cheered me up, encouraged me. Todays Jesus Calling really spoke to me, once again! Anxiety is a result of envisioning the future without ME - so the best defense against worry is staying in communication with ME..... If you must consider upcoming events, follow these rules: 1 Do not linger in the future, because anxieties sprout up like mushrooms when you wander there; 2 Remember the promise of MY continual Presence; include ME in any imagery that comes to mind. I sometimes do find myself becoming anxious about my future, and when I do, I know I must put my trust in Jesus - HE gives me peace in knowing that HE is with me always and that its all going to be okay - Luke 12:22-26 reminds me that God tells me not to worry about what I will eat, what I will wear. God will meet all of my needs. Im getting ready for an adventure with my kids this next week - pray for safety, lots of memory making and lots of sharing together. Im so blessed to be able to do this adventure with them - it was a gift from Darrel last Christmas and we are going to do our best to celebrate our blessings that he just keeps giving! Again, I want to thank you all for being a part of this journey with me - Ive met new friends, reconnected with old friends, ongoing relationships have become stronger. Ive been so blessed by so many people. I woke up this morning around 3:45 to an email from a soon to be new friend - thank you Kim De Jong for giving Geri my number! Looking forward to getting together with her soon! Ive met Geri a few times at different places, but now we have a common thread in our lives and I think Ill learn a lot from her.
