As I write about Polymathica, I have become enamored of a phrase, Polymathicans possess a densely pixelated world view. For me, it is a very strong metaphor that explains the relationship between erudition and refinement. I mean by refined, primarily, how it is used to describe taste... He or she has refined musical tastes meaning that he or she understands and appreciates the subtleties of a musical piece. Which is why I appreciate Taylor Swift and Beyonce not so much. Also, I contend that a densely pixelated world view requires more words to adequately describe, which, rather than IQ, is the reason Polymathicans have and use such large vocabularies.
