As I write this the television is filled with ominous weather - TopicsExpress

As I write this the television is filled with ominous weather warnings. Tornados in Mississippi, flash floods in Louisiana, severe thunderstorms all over. It is certainly good to have advanced warning of danger. If we are wise we will head the warnings and make preparations. That leads me to what I want to discuss. I am very optimistic about most things, especially GOD’S end-time plan for the church. Everything that we are experiencing today is a part of the overall scheme of GOD. Nothing surprises HIM nothing catches HIM off guard. This present age will proceed as the LORD directs it, end of story. The real question is will we be prepared. Joel 2:1 says... Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; with that said there are some things I feel compelled to say. The Church today is filled with half-hearted followers who seem to like the trappings of Christianity without the responsibilities that come along with it. We seem to think that somehow we can accept CHRIST as our savior and deny HIM as our LORD. I assure you that is not acceptable to GOD. The Church of GOD was founded in a white hot prayer meeting and birthed in fire from on high. The early Church literally turned their world upside down. This handful of believers’ braved persecution, imprisonment, even death to fulfill their GOD breathed appointed mission to spread the Gospel to a lost and dying world. As much as I love it, today’s church has grown ice cold and powerless. We argue and fight over ridiculous stuff that has no bearing on the Kingdom of GOD, and we think because we baptize a few of our children every year that we are fulfilling the great commission. Do not misunderstand, I praise GOD for every soul that comes to faith in CHRIST and follows HIM in believer’s baptism, but let’s not kid ourselves, we are not reaching our world or our communities. Not only are our churches filled with ineffective powerless people most of them are more worldly than Godly. In my 30 plus years of being born again I have never seen such a level of apathy in the Church. Do we not realize that it is OUR responsibility to sound the alarm? Do we not realize that time is running out? Please understand, I am not saying that there are not good Godly people in our Churches, there are. What I am saying is that from my viewpoint maybe the greatest mission field that we have right now facing us is the church itself. My prayer is twofold, first LORD give us bold, radical, HOLY GHOST filled believers who will stand their post and blow the trumpet and sound the alarm, and secondly “come LORD JESUS.”
