As Im waiting with my daughter at her bus stop this morning asking her if she got a chance to finish her essay about the American dream in the 1950s. I myself never been one who was too good in school. I never paid much attention I was always interested in trying to make someone laugh or smile. She said that she was only able to finish about a page and it supposed to be two pages so I told her I thought that the dream in the 1950s for Americans was to have a TV in their home. Here we are almost 65 years later and most homes have a TV in everyone of their rooms including the bedrooms. Well as Americanshave really achieved that dream? I told her that I think her teachers wanting her to go beyond the American dream of the 1950s and to see what technology has created for us today..... So I suggested she added this to be a part of her conclusion..... Because of all the TVs that are in Peoples homes the technology thats been created has possibly been part of whats been tearing families apart. Some people are always saying to their kids wait a minute wait after the shows over or the kids are in their rooms in there in their room watching their shows, it has actually torn families apart. We need to spend more time listening to our children listening to our husbands listening to our wives being a family instead of being so disconnected with technology. Even though Im saying this at 6 oclock in the morning I think sometimes you really need to think about that and realize that why are we doing what were doing? Why arent we turning the TV off to listen to what our kids have to say? Why arent we going to church as often as we should? As society really we need to get back to whats more important our faith, our families, because isnt that why we are working so hard for in the 1st place ? Technology, work,drama, can take away things that are most important to us which is our kids our husbands our wives our moms our dads, our brothers and sisters. These THINGS arent necessary for our families. Our hugs, our kisses, our ears to listen to what our families have to say are!!! I hope that this helps you realize and think about whats most important today as you start your day!!! Happy Tuesday everyone!!!!!
