As Ive grown older, Ive learned a lot of things. Ive gained a lot of wisdom. I have been through things many others will never experience but I know that I myself most likely have not experienced their issues either. What I have learned and the number one lesson I will teach every student that I ever encounter if and when I become a teacher is that your family is everything. More importantly that your siblings are your best friends. I sit here and I see two men in their 50s, brothers, hanging out and throwing back some beers. My brother and I hated each other growing up, and still do at times haha. But today we are best friends. True best friends. And THAT is the life lesson I want to teach every kid; no matter what, no matter how much you hate each other growing up, you NEED each other. And you WILL be best friends. I could not have made it through most of the bs without my brother. I tell the kids I teach at camp or at school this and they laugh. I hate my brother/sister will turn into I love my brother/sister sooner than you think. No matter how annoyed I get, how much shit he does to piss me off, I have the greatest best friend there is. And I know I do annoy him just as much. Life is good, cherish it
