As I’m sure all of you already know, SB 76 moved from the Senate Finance Committee today (9/16) by a 6-5 vote. Please take a few moments to call or email those Senators who voted for the bill to thank them for their vote. For those of those of you who have asked about next steps, here’s what will happen. The next stop is the Senate Appropriations Committee. A majority of the committee members favor SB 76, so quick passage there is possible, especially since three of the four prime sponsors are Appropriations Committee members. If this happens SB 76 will move to the Senate floor for a vote. After that it will be sent to the House for concurrence, but forget that for the moment. We need to take this one step at a time, so let’s focus on Senate Appropriations. If you wish, start by contacting Senator Jake Corman, Appropriations Chair, to ask him to move the bill quickly.
