As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They *said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “It shall be done to you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them: “See that no one knows about this!” But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout all that land. Matthew 9:27-31 (NASB) As Jesus left Jarius’ home two blind men followed Him addressing Him as the Son of David, they begged Him to have mercy on them. Faith was the key to all these divine healing and so He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” With an affirmative response He touched their eyes and said, “It shall be done to you according to your faith.” Immediately their eyes were opened. When they went away they went all around telling what Jesus had done, disregarding that Jesus had requested them not to do so. Jesus knew that it could stir up political agitation which it might provoke, and He wanted as much time as possible to complete His spiritual ministry before His crucifixion. These blind men were persistent. They went right into the house where Jesus was staying. They knew Jesus could heal them, and they would not let anything stop them from finding Him. That is real faith. If you believe Jesus is the answer to your every need, do not let anything or anyone stop your from reaching Him. Jesus told the people to keep quiet about His healings because He did not want to be known only as a miracle worker. He healed because he had compassion on people, but He also wanted to bring spiritual healing to a sin sick world.
