As Josh and I participated in Relay for Life last night, one thing - TopicsExpress

As Josh and I participated in Relay for Life last night, one thing continued to resound in my head. Cancer doesnt discriminate. It doesnt only affect the old people or the bad people. It doesnt care about how healthy, wealthy, or loved you are. Jamie was proof of this. She was young. Cancer didnt run in her family. She didnt do anything to her body to cause her cancer. She was a wonderful, caring, giving person that is missed greatly. So why did she have to fight this battle with cancer? Who knows?!? Jamie fought a strong fight. Her last year here with us was a time that brought so many people together and gave Jamie time to spread the love of our Savior. The Relay for Life shirts say Finish the Fight! I believe there is something more that we can do to honor Jamies fight. Jamies cancer was not something she caused but it is a cancer that can be detected early with yearly check-ups. Ladies, we all know how easy it is to forget that yearly appointment. Young girls, we all know how scary those first appointments are. But cancer is something far more scary and you will never forget about it. Moms, dads, husbands make sure the women in your life are going for their yearly screening. With early detection lives can be saved. Cancer can be kicked to the curb before it has a chance to take over. Do it for yourself! Do it for your family! Do it so that cancer doesnt get to win!!
