As Salaamun Alaikum Sisters and Brothers, The Women in the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad were also a part of the Plan of Allah. They were not just there for having children and house cleaning as many learned individuals would have us to believe. Our wives are not “Maids”…they are our “Mates”…they are not our “Property” they are our “Partners”. Please join the group “Women in the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad” and participate as much as possible and keep it clean and respectful. All new information will be posted in the group and then posted to other groups later. Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Quran. Surah Muzzammil (wrapped up) was the third chapter revealed in the Quran. We are dealing with verses that deal with women, but this verse from the Quran address men and women who were diligent in their prayers behind enemy lines. PRAYING ALL NIGHT LOING!!! A lot of us believe that the Prophet Muhammad taught Tauhid for the first 13 years…this is incorrect. He taught Tauhid from the time he received revelations till the time Allah called him back. The message is always about Tauhid but not always…. only Tauhid! The standing in prayer was a means of preparation for the trials that were to come. They were being groomed for delivering the message by any means necessary. Two things I would like to bring to your attention…Number one….jihad was mentioned and yet it was not ordained until they were in Medina. Number two…Zakah was mentioned and some believe that it was not put into structure until they were in Medina. I believe that the system of Zakah was more creative in Medina but that it was formalized in Mecca! The Prophet Muhammad instructed them in Zakah in Mecca in order for them to purify their wealth which was tainted by the Meccans economic system. The grooming process entailed teaching them how to become pure even though they had no control over economics. The wealthy, early Muslims were setting the example of how to take care of the less fortunate as a responsibility…not as a gesture of goodwill. Freeing slaves started then. Women’s Rights started then. Women were in the ranks of praying all night and Khadijah was using her wealth to assist the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad and for freeing slaves.
