As Thanksgiving nears and Christmas is just around the next corner, heres a book I’d recommend for reading or gift giving: “A Simple Act of Gratitude: How Learning to Say Thank You Changed my Life,” by John Kralik. I wrote a review for Amazon about the book back in May. I’ve copied it here. “I probably wouldnt have read this book had I not heard it mentioned on the Jesus Christ Show, on Sunday Morning (May 5, 2013), when the host was talking about gratitude. I read the Kindle version in two days. Its a truly amazing story of one mans moving from self pity and self loathing, to a place of major gratitude and what it did for his life. The only fault I see with the book is it could give a reader the impression that if he or she is just grateful enough, then they will be healthy, wealthy and wise beyond belief. What it does show is that when one gets his/her focus looking outward, and pays attention to what is truly happening in and around their lives, a change in attitude almost has to happen. This book does what a memoir is supposed to do—not tell the authors life story, but rather a piece of it, some precious moments. Im pretty sure Ill be reading it again.”
