As You have sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. (John 17:18) Prayer: Lord, many people are being intimidated by debilitating negative emotions sown into them by the enemy. Because I believe You died to set people free, I ask You today to work in Your people the faith, strength and courage it will take to stand against these spiritual attacks. I am so grateful that You took all of our pain, diseases, worries, fears upon Yourself. Our old nature is dead, and right along with this, so is the accusation of the enemy. You broke the curse that was on mankind once and for all – and You broke it by making the greatest sacrifice ever made. Today, I believe You are calling Your people to step up into our new identities in You. We do not have to keep going back and forth – revisiting our old hurts and hang-ups. This seems to be a default pattern that far too many of us fall into automatically – and it must stop! I love to look to Your kingdom possibilities – Your Kingdom realities - where there are no negatives – only positives - that You work within us for the greater glory of God and His people. Every day You draw us to Yourself so we can become more like You. You call us to represent You on this earth and we must step up – or we will be run over by an enemy who is rapidly escalating. You call us to be linked to You – to not be intimidated. You can’t be intimidated – why should we? I believe Lord that we need to get into a deeper relationship with Your promises. Your Scriptures are filled with possibilities and insights! You are growing us to “soar on eagles wings”. You are helping us to get our feet out of the quicksand that so easily pulls us down. There is no greater call we can have on our life than to become like You – in our thoughts, feelings, emotions. You make it possible for us to replace the negativity that surrounds us, with the eternal possibilities that are ours to claim. So, I claim it right now! Help those who are praying this prayer to take every thought captive and replace it with Your thoughts – which are simply going to be better and wiser thoughts. Renew our minds - not by battling the negatives, but by teaching us to think like You think, see like You see, hear like You hear and love like You love. This is not rocket science Lord – so help us please to reach for the stars - to get our priorities correctly aligned with Your divine will being done on this earth as it is done in heaven. I ask for an upgrade in faith, trust, hope and peace for everyone praying this prayer. Help us to stand in astonishment as we recognize the love of our God who can make all things new. Whatever old patterns we are holding on to – please Jesus, this is the time to set Your people free! I declare our old man dead. Help us to abide in you! Thank You Jesus that You are teaching us to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, who walks against the tide – and turns every negative into a positive. Thank You Jesus for allowing us to partner with You, so we can turn the tide against the enemy and drown him – and even profit ourselves from his evil intentions. To You Jesus be all the honor and the glory! Devotional Idea: Even after I wrote this prayer, I found myself asking myself why He would bless me so richly. As I thought about this, the answer proved to be a simple one – He loves me! He is attempting every day to make me more like Himself. He wants to set us free so we can minister as He would minister if He was visibly walking the earth today. Every one of us can learn from the Master Himself. Every one of us can become more like Him every day of our lives. It is our purpose on this planet to become like Him - and even do the works that He did. The path is easy – love God above all things – love others with enough faith to help them. We do indeed need to be living for an “audience of One” – seeking to live consciously in the “simplicity of devotion to Him.” Ask Him now to help you break free of anything that is holding you in bondage to fear, intimidation, anger, jealousy (this list goes on). Remember, the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Guide – make a determined effort each day to partner with Him. The path to freedom is yours to walk on – plant your feet on it and move out with Him.
