As a Christian I am supposed to live an exemplary life, so my bible is for MY instruction. When we attempt to force society into our bible we are falling back into the legalism of the Pharisees and their law condemns us. I am alarmed to see my brethren seeking a vigilante attack on the world we are supposed to be attracting by a kinder gentler way. I wonder why they follow a few rich people into a misrepresentation of our hope. Well I know that my bible predicted a falling away, so I dont expect to see all problems solved in this world. At one time the religious right enacted an experiment called prohibition. The experiment went it course and faded into history. Now we see social experimentation coming from the left and some of these too fill fade in time. There are liberal ideas that will be acceptable or even inspired by biblical examples, and these may find favor as we mature. Patience and courage can advance equality and compassion in society. Demanding or forcing rapid change can polarize and divide our efforts. I see Mayday as a step to grow past the PAC system by using it to build a better way. We need to accept diversity of opinions to reach unity of primary goals. Our first target is to gain a voice among the PACs. We can sell this goal by demonstrating patience towards our political opposites who need the same tools for fair representation. I would rather lose or wait for some of my minor goals than to surrender all hope of representation in government. It looks like the big PACs are not entirely interested in the needs of the nation. Lets stay focused on that concern. They may mount an effort to crush this dream if they are unable to ignore it. I will have to consider voting for leaders who do not share my beliefs on every topic. I hope we can prioritize some goals that are important to all of us. That may rule out the goals of a few of the wealthy and opinionated members of our society. Let THEM eat cake!
