As a Mexican-American who is proud of my cultural heritage, it has really bothered me in recent years that the lines of differentiation between Halloween and the very next day, Dia de Los Muertos, has become increasingly confused. Here is a good article as my attempt to begin to educate the public on the differences. Growing up my parents & I celebrated both days. Halloween was for all the fun stuff & the next day was a special dinner for which Mom would go all out (better than at Christmas!) & she would set an extra place at the table for our honored dead with a plate full of food & we all had a glass of wine to salute the dead. In some modern Wiccan tradition this is called the Dumb Supper. huffingtonpost/daniel-cubias/dia-de-los-muertos-is-not_b_6056734.html
