As a child and young woman, I used to spend hours every day either - TopicsExpress

As a child and young woman, I used to spend hours every day either writing and drawing, or else sitting in a couch, staring emptily into Space, apparently a habit that felt a little eerie to those around me, who would ask what I was doing, upon which I would say (gruffly, dismissively - they were interrupting the flow!) I am thinking. I was thinking worlds. Worlds with a geography, history, culture, religion and political system of their own, filled with people who went on adventures and stuff. I always knew I would be a writer. At least that was what I told one of my teachers in second grade (aged 8), upon which he laughed and said you could not aspire to such lofty professions, upon which I was determined to prove him wrong, of course. ;) I remember also, being twelve, how a friend of mine said that if you are going to write books you need to experience a lot of stuff and know all the aspects of being alive, even the darkest ones, upon which I set out on a quest to experience just about any state of being that there was to know - harsh! But worth it... :) These images are of me, aged 5, 8, 12, and 14 - thinking, and writing. Catch your dreams before the slip away
