As a continuation of my updates about recently approved legislation in the Senate, I am happy to share a video of my remarks from the floor of the Senate regarding one of the seven bills I filed at the start of the legislation session. The bill, An Act Relative to Unsolicited Loans, aims to provide increased consumer protections against the use of unsolicited checks, money orders, and other instruments being mailed to consumers, which increases the risk of identity theft and undue debt liability. I made these remarks on July 31, 2014, the final day of the Senate’s formal legislative session.
