As a follow up on the action taken by Election Commission on the reported violations of Model Code of Conduct by political parties, AAP Panchkula raises its voice again. October 11, 2014 Dr. S. S. Phulia District Commissioner-cum-DEO Panchkula CC: 1. Chief Election Officer, Haryana 2. Smt. Hema Sharma, HCS, RO-cum-SDO (C ), Panchkula 3. Sh. Rahul Sharma, IPS, Deputy Commisioner of Police, Panchkula 4. Ms. Prabhavati B. Akashi, Awareness Observer, Panchkula Sir This is with reference to our previous mail to you as listed in the thread below. We see that the king size banners as put up by various parties and as shown in photographs have been pulled down by your office yesterday. However, Sir, please allow me to point out that the 9 photographs we shared were just representative of what is going on in the entire district. We had requested your office to please ensure that such violations be removed from the entire district. This seems to have been overlooked. As another example, we are enclosing photographs of such violations in Sec 20 and 21. Some of the banners have been put up on private property which is forbidden in Haryana. Again, these photographs may be treated just as representative ones. A recce of the city by your Flying Squad will show many such violations. Further, the festoons of flags put up on government parking area still seem to be very much in place. As per the code of conduct, only one banner of size 4feet x 8 feet is allowed on the office with just one flag. As mentioned in our previous mail, these violations are there and these still exist. Also, may we request you to please share with us the list of approved spots where the banners can be put up. Because we see a lot of such banners hoisted on bamboo sticks in local markets. For instance, one such sight can be evidently seen in Sec 10 inner market. Are these all approved? Sir, Indian democracy relies on the election of law abiding candidates and a fair enforcing Election Commission. We as conscious citizens stay committed to helping the administration in achieving this. We request you to please act urgently and have such violations removed, since the elections are now just barely 4 days later. Again, we request that all such violations should be videographed and the expenses added to candidates expenditure. regards Shalini Malviya Aam Aadmi Party Panchkula Atatched 1. 2 photographs of Sh Vinod Bagais banners on private property 2. 1 photograph of INLD office in Sec 20
