As a little girl growing up O always remembered my parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, ect doing the where were you talks about JFK when he was shot and killed. It never really dawned on me that it was an important part of history for them. The day 9/11 happened I haf skipped school that day, being an "I think Im grown and know what Im doing" 18 yr old brat! I woke up depressed missing my grandmother who had passed away in Jan of that year because her birthday was in just 5 days. I was mad at the world because she was taken from me when I needed her the most. I fought and argued with my parents that day and I remember my mom saying to me, "What is your problem? Our country was just attacked!" My response was, "Good I hope our house is next so I can be with Gram!" Little did I know how bad it was! I felt so guilty because so many lives were lost and I was so self-centered! (Battling depression does that to you!) Now I understand all the talks my older family members had, it was history they could pass on down to younger generations to come and now I have the same kind of history story to tell my children. Its moments in life like these that we will NEVER forget!
