As a member of council, I can provide a strong voice for the citizens of Niverville. My work schedule is flexible and keeps me available to quickly address your needs as the voter. I understand the importance of communication with residents and see the value of leveraging social media to expedite that process. As a community in the Capital region, there is a need to keep our youth engaged in Niverville as they look to begin raising families or seeking a location to start their own business. I would like to launch a youth advisory committee with members from the high school student council and the town’s youth groups to help the council understand and anticipate their needs. There is also a need to continue building the town’s infrastructure without adding to the tax burden of the residents. Properly planned light industrial, retail, and commercial services, plus possibly duplicating or expanding existing business would help in offsetting these costs. I support the continued growth of Niverville with well planned mixed residential developments. Currently, I feel the town is split up. I would plan to improve the safety of those in 5th Avenue wanting to walk or bike to Hespeler Park. I would like a path connecting the arena to Hespeler Park. These are steps which would add to the feel of connected community. With over 20 years of managing different retail businesses, I have a diverse skill set. My abilities in team building and working well with others toward a common goal will be important with a new mayor and new council members. My wife, Heather, and our two girls who currently are at NCI are very happy with our choice to move here in 2006. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to contact me.
