As a member of the Kalona Community and a member of Friends of the Bunker Mill bridge Board, I completely appreciate the efforts and Technical advise of Julie Bowers and NSRGA in helping to save the Bunker Mill Bridge. Julie was hired for technical assistance and to oversee the construction work and to be on the FBMB board was a conflict of interest. Therefore, I appreciate that she resigned from the board so she could concentrate her efforts for what she was contracted to do. If Julie is true to her word, the bridge will be handed over to Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge when the project is completed. In order for FBMB to survive as a Kalona entity and to proceed with organizing our own non-profit organization 50l (c) 3, is is imperative that NSRGBA voluntarily release the FBMB name so the Kalona community can be prepared to handle the ongoing maintenance of the bridge.
