As a mother and an epidemiologist at the US Centers for Disease - TopicsExpress

As a mother and an epidemiologist at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention living in Mozambique (Southern Africa), I take very seriously my own personal health (for me and S) as well as greater public health. I am first and foremost very proud of the role that CDC is playing in the response to ebola, both in Africa as well as back in the US. What have i done this week to show this? First I welcomed my colleague Luis Morfin (who returned this week from a mission to Sierra Leone) with a big hug for all the work he has done. And to protect the health of S and myself? Well, we went and got a FLU shot this morning. Hope the world can move beyond the fear and panic that is starting to have ramifications on the ebola response and take real steps to improve their own personal and public health.
