As a mother of a son who plays for Mark Richt I can tell you Georgia does have the best coach in college football. We met several coaches at top Division one school when Marshall was being recruited and for the most part our time with them was limited to under an hour and a majority of the time was spent with them sitting behind a huge desk telling Marshall how fortunate hed be to play for their program. At Georgia we let Coach John Lily know we were coming up....it was January of Marshalls junior year. He met us and showed us around...then he took us to met coach Richt.. CMR greeted us and invited us into a room attached to his office that had a sectional type of couch and some comfy chairs. He went on and on about how blessed UGA would be to have Marshall...it was a completely different approach than any wed seen. He spent all but 2 hours of the day with us and.ate lunch and dinner with us. Also we met Coach Lilys wife and kids at a Gym Dawg Gymnastics meet on campus. Of course we talked alot about football with Coach Richt and when it was time to leave he prayed with us. No pressure or intimidation tactics... he was as real as real can be. I asked Marshal when we got in car what he thought of the visit and he said...you know mom I feel like I could break my leg and these coaches would still care about me, It was a no brainer for Marshall he knew the real deal when he saw it....because actions always speak louder than words.... Yes Coach Richt knows football and Yes he DOES win games and LOTS of them...but more importantly he knows young men and how to build character that will last a lifetime .. I would rather have a coach that puts right before wrong and God before worldly fame....I would rather have a 9 in 3 season than win a National Championship if it means having a coach that puts young mens character before throwing rules out the window for the sake of winning a games. I would rather have people praise a coach we ARE so fortunate to have than bash him hoping for Coach Perfect when hes not out there. We already have the best and if we all get behind him and support him he will be that much better for it and so will we....and who knows...2015 could be the year Georgia has dreamed of.... dawnofthedawg/2014/11/30/calling-mark-richts-job-careful-wish/
