As a parent, there are those rare, special moments when we are so overcome with pride in our children that we are brought to tears. I was blessed to experience that moment last night as I watched Morgan play in her first college soccer game, her long-time dream finally coming true. Not only did Morgan start in her favorite position at midfield, but she also scored the first goal of the season for her team. All I could think about when I saw her taking the field for the first time at the University of Mobile was that she was exactly where she wanted to be--where she should be. All her hard work and dedication both on the soccer field and in the classroom, all the miles put on two Tahoes, all the stinky soccer clothes, all the drive-thru meals, all the soccer tournament "vacations", all the bruises and aches and pains, and all the time and money invested...it was all worth it. Morgan has developed into a beautiful, intelligent, kind, fun-loving young woman that I am proud to have as both a daughter and my best friend. God bless you as you follow your dream baby girl. I will always be your number one fan!
