As a part of the Future Teachers Academy, Hopatcong High School is excited to announce the “Little Chiefs Preschool” as a part of the child development curriculum. It is considered a “laboratory school” where high school students are both teachers and observers. The preschool program prepares and builds cognitive and social-emotional skills of children entering Kindergarten as well as focusing on literacy, math activities, and dramatic make-believe play and will take place 3 days per week at the Hopatcong High School from 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM, beginning October 7, 2014 and ending June 7, 2015. This preschool program will be open to 4 year old children with preference given to Hopatcong residents. To be eligible for the 2014-2015 school year, children must be 4 years of age by October 1, 2014 and be toilet trained. The tuition cost will be $200.00 a month. The tuition is non-refundable and will be due the first Monday of each month. Free/Reduced tuition will be considered in cases of financial hardship. The application will be available online and in the High School Guidance Office shortly. There will be an on-site registration on Tuesday, June 17 from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM and Wednesday, June 18 from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM in the High School Guidance Office. Applications are due by June 24, 2014. Notification of acceptance will take place until the enrollment is maximized. A lottery will occur in June if the number of applicants exceeds the number of openings.
