As a side note speaking about the time i used a magic marker to write This is not a crack house, this is a BIBLE house! on my door - one of my neighbors didnt like it (guessing he was a crackhead), so he tried to paint over it; but God gave me a miracle & so no matter how much paint he used to try & cover it for a good half an hour, it all just ran off the sign like water & you could barely tell that he did anything at all to the sign - but when it was time for me to move out, i was able to paint over it with only 1 coat. Well the reason it took me so long to produce this study is because i didnt want to do it until i put a new sign on my door, seeing as how last time i realized i was slacking off by not having one; i didnt want to face you until i rectified the situation, so when i got home from work i taped a bookmark with Jn 3:16 on it to my door, so i feel better now. Dt 6:10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, 11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; 12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. 14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; 15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. 16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. K so Moses as he continues on is saying watch out after you casually stroll on into these cities & houses complete with wells & groceries that you did not build & dig & buy yourselves; alongside fields bursting with produce that you didnt plant yourselves. that once you start enjoying all that stuff you forget about YHVH who saved you from slavery in Egypt. So make sure to respect Him & serve Him so that you can make your promises with His authority. Dont copy your neighbors who are worshiping other gods as ours is Jealous (as i said blatant reminder to the 1st commandment & not to do idolatry here) & doing idolatry will bring about the wrath of God which will cause you to be Destroyed: 8045 שָׁמַד [shamad /shaw·mad/] v. A primitive root; TWOT 2406; GK 9012; 90 occurrences; AV translates as “destroy” 83 times, “destruction” once, “overthrown” once, “perished” once, and translated miscellaneously four times. 1 to destroy, exterminate, be destroyed, be exterminated. 1a (Niphal). 1a1 to be annihilated, be exterminated. 1a2 to be destroyed, be devastated. 1b (Hiphil). 1b1 to annihilate, exterminate. 1b2 to destroy. or exterminated so that pretty much means that eventually nobody will remember who you are & your legend will fade away because you have no children to carry on your story. Dont tempt YHVH like you did back in Ex 17. So looking back there when there was no water (not even a luxury but a necessity) they started complaining to Moses & turning away from God thinking He brought them there to die. So not tempting YHVH like they did in that story means having faith that God is taking care of you even when you cant tell by the evidence of your circumstances. The way God has been raising me is basically providing for my needs normally not any time sooner than 5 minutes before i need them & so if i dont have something i dont need it so i quit asking God for stuff because i have so much faith that He is providing my needs. Mt 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. - Because i have faith in that verse that says He knows what i need, i know i dont have to ask Him for anything so normally the only things i pray for is that Gods will be worked out in the people i know & the people i dont know, the people i like & the people i dont like so basically everybody on the planets life as i have told many people it is my job, duty, honor, privilege & responsibility to obey 1 Thess 5:17 & 1 Tim 2:1 & pray for all men without ceasing; & most of the rest of my prayers are thanking Him for everything He does for me, some questions & perhaps the occasional apology like i should be doing right now (Sorry Daddy) whenever i see a scripture i forgot about & was not obeying like the sign on the door bit. Well i am not telling you not to ask God for stuff as the scriptures plainly say - Php 4:6b let your requests be made known unto God. But seeing as how sometimes you dont get what you ask for, perhaps because it is not good for you or you are not ready for it, we gotta realize that because we work for God & not the other way around, it is Gods will that is going to be done & not ours; so perhaps you might want to consider getting to the mindset i have of praising God for what you have (Php 4:11; 1 Thess 5:18) & not asking for stuff because God has impeccable timing & derives great pleasure from providing for our needs, especially when we are grateful & thanking Him when He delivers them. K well last time took forever & 5 weeks for me to finish so i will let you go now - next time we will see some exhortations to obey the word of God & until then let us pray that when times are good we dont forget God & constantly strive to keep the attitude of gratitude, & just spend time looking for things to thank God for. Now maybe some of you are thinking how can i praise God for anything? All i have are problems! Well personally i dont have problems; i have challenges & opportunities - challenges to obey & opportunities to pray! So when you have something in your life you consider a problem - start praying & asking God why this situation is in your life & He should tell you what you are supposed to learn, do or say in the situation & once you obey what God said then whatever your situation is should be solved; at least that is how my life works.
