As a very young person growing up in one of the mainline - TopicsExpress

As a very young person growing up in one of the mainline denominations of the Christian Churches I started asking myself many questions. What’s my purpose here? And, What happens when I die? My Dear sweet Mother a widow women at a very young age wanted to make sure my Sister and I had the answers to these questions and more. She felt that it was her purpose to make sure that we learned the answers in Church. I am truly thankful for that because it has brought me to where I am today. I can still clear as day remember standing in Church while the Pastor closed out His Sermon. I can still clear as day remember as the congregation would start to sing that Old Familiar Song...Just As I Am Without One Plea. The Pastor would say something like...May the Holy Spirit bid YOU Come or May the Presence of Jesus walk by Your side as you Come. Not Only this but the Church that I grew up in was a Pentecostal Church which Our Pastor would whip His sermons up so that Anyone would want to RUN down the aisle to what was known as the Alter. As a young person that always did the many things that young people often do when I was in Church with their sermons I was Often filled with Guilt and Conviction. I cant tell you the times that I would almost run to that alter because of the way my Pastor did His Sermons. After a while I started thinking How Many times can One Person get so called SAVED? I started thinking that other Church Members were thinking...Somethings wrong with that Boy. Needless to say all of this was because of what The Church was teaching. I started to wake up. I started to understand that this is a walk (but not down some aisle). It is a Walk to find and understand the Truth of what YHWH has for Us. Folks when we make a commitment to Serve Him we are making a Vow to Serve the One and Only True God. We are saying to Him that We will not violate His Word. It is Not just a One time thing like Christians think that getting Saved is. It is complete dedication to Him every minute, every hour. Numbers 30:1-2: The Torah says that a person who makes an oath or a vow is bound to fulfill that oath or vow. The commandment is expressed in a negative and positive formulation: he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. (Numbers 30:2) Therefore, breaking ones word is a violation of two commandments. Folks we may fail Him but His Vow and Oath to Us will NEVER fail Us. We walk this Journey and we sometimes stumble and Fall. We may not even be able to get up on Our Own but if we can just get up on our knees He and He alone will lift us up so we can finish this Journey. YHWH is true to His own word. Once He has spoken, He cannot transgress His utterance, reverse it or abolish it. His integrity is absolute. Unlike man, there is no disconnect between the utterance of Gods mouth and God Himself. A man may say words that are not true, but every word spoken by God is the very truth of God. His Divine Word cannot be understood as something separate from Him. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. (Numbers 30:2). He will lead you and He will guide you through this journey to His Kingdom...When YOU and I reach the end we will be Saved.
