As a veteran, who served 8 years in the US ARMY - 1965 to 1973. I went to the US VA local office to register for medical coverage. I was refused coverage. It appears that in 2003 our Congress and Senate passed a bill suspending coverage to all military, unless you served in a combat zone designated by Presidential Order or had retired from the military. Had I applied prior to 2003 I would have been grandfathered (did not need the VA coverage then). Since I did not serve in Vietnam, and being shot at for 2 weeks during the Newark riots does not count, I just do not qualify. However our Senate can find the money and pass a $1.5 billion bill for illegals that never serve our country. Cannot make this sh:; up!
