As a yoga practitioner, pole dancer or gymnast I believe its important to have a working knowledge of basic neurophysiology. One should have a practical understanding of nerve reflexes in order to be able to use this knowledge to help develop flexibility, strength & relaxation at the same time. Also its important to understand the concept of nerve tensioning & be able to safely tension (stretch/strengthen)the nerves in order to further facilitate improvements in flexibility, strength & relaxation.
