As an African American, I often find myself falling back on - TopicsExpress

As an African American, I often find myself falling back on slavery analogies. Working with ignorant adoptive parents often feels like trying to convince Massa that slavery is wrong. Its like asking the masters to stop oppressing the people they think they own. I did not just say that all APs are ignorant. What I am saying is that trying to engage with the clueless ones is frustrating and, in the end, futile. These days, I would rather support the Harriet Tubmans in our struggle to help oppressed people to find freedom. THAT seems like a better use of my time.
