As an airline pilot myself I can say that having wireless on board aircraft is not safe for anyone. The metal fuselage of the aircraft blocks signals from personal wireless devices, making these devices broadcast at full power to try and connect with cell towers outside the aircraft. These signals then reflect off the metal of the fuselage itself, bouncing back at the passengers. After take-off all devices are supposed to be on airplane mode, but many people dont bother or even know how to turn off the transmitting features of their phone. On top of that, having wi-fi routers inside the aircraft creates a constant microwave radiation exposure to everyone on board, passengers and crew. The crews on board have to work in this environment day in and day out, being heavily exposed to unnecessary radiation for the sake of entertainment. boeing/Features/2012/12/corp_wifi_12_18_12.html When wi-fi routers are tested on aircraft, they use sacks of potatoes for testing and DO NOT take into consideration the total amount of radiation being produced by the wi-fi routers AND personal wireless devices brought on board the aircraft. They only look at the routers itself to see if it exceeds thermal heating of tissue (safety code). NO ONE is making sure that the cumulative radiation exposure in aircraft is not exceeding the safety code. As well ALL wireless is deemed by the World Health Organization to be a class 2B carcinogen. This is the same category as lead, DDT, gasoline, diesel fuel and exhaust fumes. Many scientist who originally were part of this determination say that if they reviewed the class level now it would be a 2A with all the new studies done since... c4st.org/dr-anthony-miller?highlight=WyJtaWxsZXIiXQ== Many of us have had to personally learn the hard way that the safety code is not protective enough and there is harm being done at non-thermal levels. Its ruining peoples lives and that is NOT ok!!!
