As bacteria causes meat to spoil and stink, so Satan and sinful humanity are at work to ruin all societies unless God is brought into the picture through the Savior. You can see tragedy all around us today. God is not the author of it. We need a preservative, Someone to save us and keep us fresh. That’s why God sent Jesus, our life preserver. Jesus allows us to be born again in the spirit which can never be contaminated. However, Our flesh is analogous to meat. We rot without a preservative. The gospel is like salt that keeps us fresh and keeps us from spoiling. Jesus calls us the salt of the earth. The Word prevents us from decay. We give the world flavor and preservation by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ until He returns! What an awesome privilege we have in Christ!
