As believers we need to be very careful about not becoming judgmental. Its something thats easy to do because when we see the truth God has shown us we want to line everyone up against that truth and we cant do that. They may have a truth we have not yet discovered and by judging them we cause division instead of unity. We could learn a lot from each other, believer and heathen alike, if we would put our judgements aside. God has given us the gift of discernment, however, which helps us line up what someone is speaking into our lives as either from God or of darkness. He gave us that so we can navigate through this life without being gullible and easily led astray. This is not a gift to be held against someone else, but to help us to grow in the Lord. We are all in need of improvement, none of us are perfect. We need to remember where God brought us out of. Not glorify our sin, but remember that we were sinners once, separated from God before Gods saving grace became a reality in our lives. We were, and would still be, nothing without Him. People will always do things wrong. We still do things wrong. We are still learning, still growing. We cant be so quick to judge those people when they fall, but instead be there to lift them up. We need to keep trying to improve ourselves. When we let God work on our hearts and change us from the inside out, then our lives will be a testament of His glory. Hopefully that change of us becoming more Jesus-like will inspire others to do the same. We change the world by loving each other. Its much easier to hate each other, be jealous, be judgmental; love takes courage; love takes sacrifice. When we were saved we died to ourselves and come alive in Christ. Thats what it means to be born again-to be born of His Spirit. Now its no longer about us, but all about God-about sharing His love with the world. Less of about ourselves; more about Jesus, Dont be someones stumbling block or distraction. Let us keep our focus on the mission. God is the only perfect judge. His judgements are always perfect because He is perfect. He judges out of love. We judge to condemn and elevate ourselves. We are not perfect. We should not try to take His place. Matthew 7:1-5 (ESV) “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brothers eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye.
