As cyclists, we like to suffer on the bike. We know that’s what makes us fitter, faster and stronger. We’ve chosen this battle, and we love nearly every minute of it. Our friend Sonny Millier is fighting a battle of a different kind. Sonny suffered a collapsed lung soon after birth and was diagnosed with Hyaline Membrane Disease (a respiratory syndrome in premature infants). He also experiences Apnoea episodes where he stops breathing. This occurs up to 70 times a night. Sonny fights for every breath he takes. We want Sonny and his parents Kane and Heidi Millier to know that we’re with them – and in saying we, that extends to all of you: the best fans in the sport.
