As everyone knows, Im Americas most sought after vegetable garden consultant and judge. When I was in NJ recently, I was asked to judge 2 competing gardens and I obliged. Since these two gardens belong to my little brother and lifelong friend, I waived my normal fee. So here are the results based on a five point scale: Plant size - Dave 4 Jimmy 4 Spacing - Dave 3 Jimmy 5 Current Harvest - Dave 5 Jimmy 4 Overall Appearance - Dave 3 Jimmy 4 Best use of Space - Dave 5 Jimmy 4 Variety of Species - Dave 4 Jimmy 3 Best Judge Bribery Technique - Dave 0 Jimmy 0 (pathetic) Results: Jimmy 24 Dave 24 Summary: Both gardeners were rather proud of their work and early harvest results were very good. Dave needs to consider creating a different space and Jimmy should take advantage of his with better variety. Both were equally pathetic in trying to sway my opinion with offers of just snacks and beer. Until next time.
