As friends and families continue to prepare for upcoming graduation ceremonies to honor our ambitious and determined young people throughout the District of Columbia, let us remember a dynamic young lady Ms. Lucki Pannell, Ward 1 resident, who left us entirely too early. Ms. Pannell attended Cardozo Senior High School and possessed an energy that was contagious for all that came into contact with this amazing scholar. With the support of her family, we have named a scholarship in her honor that is given each year to a graduating senior. This year, Ms. Sharron Weatherless will be the recipient of the $1,000 scholarship to assist her as she starts an additional chapter of her academic career at Spelman College in the fall. Ms. Sharron Weatherless is an exemplar honor roll student, National Honor Society nominee, Posse Scholarship nominee, recipient of the Excellence Award in DC History and Government, Biology and Principles of Engineering; President and Team Captain of the volleyball team. We want to congratulate Ms. Weatherless on a job well done and wish her well as she relocates to Atlanta, Georgia. Bests, Jim
