As humans we stand apart from other species for many reasons, one significant factor is our ability to feel and offer compassion for all the other creatures that inhabit this world. It is our responsibility to ensure that the livestock we depend on for so much can be raised and treated with care and sensitivity. To not do anything else is to be unable to call oneself human.
