As many creative projects go, my solo show took a village to make - TopicsExpress

As many creative projects go, my solo show took a village to make happen. And so now I am going to publicly applaud and thank the village: 1) Douglas Widick who had his mom ship from FLORIDA Hulk Hands so I could do a bit in my show with them. His mom wrote me a note wishing me good luck on the show. I teared up when I got that lovely note. 2) Annie Quick who lent me her HOME MADE POM POMS (what can this girl not make. She is the prop making queen) and 3) Adrian Perez who lent me his MEGAPHONE. 4) Binu Paulose who brought me said pom pons and megaphone during tech rehearsal and then later on came to the show. 4) Robin Rothman Taylor who took my dense lyrics and idea for a tune and created lovely original music and helped me polish up the lyrics so they could be better heard. She also made delightful musical arrangements and recordings of some of the songs so that they could be played during the show. 5) Colin O Brien who is a kickass acoustic musician and played the other songs Robin and I created live. He worked with me to polish up the songs and created a song with me. Originally I had a different ending to the show and after rehearsing with Colin, I scraped that ending and had his music and my silly lyrics be the show closer, which made the show super fun and much more lively. 6) Kate Jones for working with me on the step routine we created for the show. She choreographed it and since she lives in NH filmed herself doing the routine, breaking down the moves step-by-step and then uploaded it. She has 2 kids and is a full time teacher so how she managed to help me out is beyond me but Kate is one of the BEST Step Choreographers ever! 7) Brian Chase was a killer tech and gave me some inspired lights on the day of the show that tickled me and added to the fun. 8) Dan De Lorenzo my director who sat with me through various re-writes, helped me cut the fat from the show, helped me create the tech for the show and helped me with song lyrics. He also supports the hell out of my ideas which are weird at best and other times very random and shapes them into accessible bits. 9) Megan Gray who let me put this show up in the first place. And finally # 10, my partner in crime/the love of my life David DeVaughn. David does so much for me I could write a thesis listing the countless ways he has helped me this year alone. He keeps me well fed, he listens to every draft I write, he gives me honest feedback about my work, he helps me carry my props home, he hugs me after every show and always makes me feel good. Without him I am a ship with no sail. I am forever grateful that the person I love, loves me back, supports me and thinks I am worth carrying around a unicorn hobby horse for in Chelsea. Thank you to everyone here for giving me your time and your support.
