As many know, we have a new puppy, an 8-week-old Rottweiler female, part of the security staff here on the farm in Nicaragua. She joins Max, a 62-lb German Shepherd shown in these photos and only 7 months old himself, and Sophie, the other Shepherd who at 2 years of age is the old lady of the bunch and not too interested in playing with puppies. Max remains playful and Daisy (the Rott) has no fear putting her entire head into Max mouth laden with sharp teeth. Were working hard to make sure that Daisy is a lover and not a fighter. A lot of Nicaraguans are afraid of them because a couple of years ago there was a well-publicized case where a Rottweiler killed and ate a Nicaraguan in Costa Rica. Or so they say. I liked the name Daisy particularly as a reminder of something pretty and gentle..
