As many of you have heard our Momma Karen suffered from a severe stroke yesterday morning (September 2nd). In the past 24 hours we have received so much love and support and I can’t tell you how immensely helpful it has been for us as a family. There is strength in numbers and we seem to have all of Tustin and beyond praying for us and sending positive thoughts our way. The type of stroke she had was called a Hemorrhagic stroke. It caused a hemorrhage in her brain and that hemorrhage has been bleeding and causing the pressure in her skull to rise. After a CT scan this morning that showed that the bleeding has worsened, our neurologist has decided to take her into surgery this afternoon. As you can imagine, we are all very scared, but we are keeping our thoughts positive and remembering that our Mom has always been a fighter. We will remain strong for her and have faith that they will be able to isolate and stop the bleeding during surgery, thereby relieving the pressure from her skull and preventing any further damage. We will do our best to keep everyone updated through this page and by phone. Also- as far as visiting goes our family/friends have been in and out of the CCU waiting room, but the only people allowed to see my mom are my Brothers, Dad, Aunt and I. If you would like to stop by the waiting room you can contact one of the boys or myself. We’re gladly accepting hugs and cuddles. Again, the love we have received from our friends/family/coworkers is nothing short of amazing and we can’t thank you enough.
