As many of you know, I have been posting a bunch of deck lists. Some actually seem halfway decent or even good. Most do not. So, here is a deck that I have been tinkering around with a lot that I believe would actually have some potential. 4 Drift of Phantasms 4 Grand Architect 4 Pili-Pala 4 Disrupting Shoal 4 Gitaxian Probe 4 Muddle the Mixture 4 Serum Visions 3 Sleight of Hand 2 Merchant Scroll 2 Pact of Negation 2 Swan Song 1 Blue Suns Zenith 1 Exsanguinate 15 Island 3 Halimar Depths 2 Tolaria West 1 Cavern of Souls Sideboard: 1 Echoing Truth 2 Gigadrowse 4 Leyline of Sanctity 3 Mizzium Skin 1 Pongify 1 Snapback 1 Swan Song 1 Torpor Orb 1 Wipe Away The goal here is to set up Pili-Pala with Grand Architect. Grand Architect can turn Pili-Pala into a blue creature. A blue creature can tap itself to add 2 mana to your mana pool usable to cast artifact spells and activate artifact abilities. Pili-Pala can untap itself and pay 2 to add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Using the above, you make lots and lots and lots (but never infinite) mana. With near-infinite mana, you can cast Blue Suns Zenith or Exsanguinate to kill you opponent. The fun thing about this list is that it is playing a handful of cards that I believe interact very well with each other. You have 4 Drift of Phantasms to transmute for Grand Architect or Blue Suns Zenith. You have 4 Muddle the Mixture to stop removal and to counter removal and find Exsanguinate Merchant Scroll finds Pact of Negation, Disrupting Shoal, Blue Suns Zenith, Muddle the Mixture, Swan Song and sideboard cards. Pact of Negation and Disrupting Shoal are great free counter spells to allow you to tap out early and attempt to go off without holding up extra mana for counters. Swan Song is also useful as it protects your combo. The sideboard is mostly for opposing combo decks and decks with disruption Against hand disruption, Leyline comes in. Against removal, Mizzium Skin comes in. Against counterspells, Gigadrowse comes in. Against twin, pod and aggressive decks, some bounce and torpor orb comes in. I am also considering some amount of Spellskite in the 75, but I am not sure where exactly to put it. What does everyone think?
