As many of you know, I have helped stock wild strain Trout for 22 years. On Wed., I had an issue with my 14 year old Lab that needed my attention, the day Westby Rod and Gun tryed to release Trout. Got informed today that 1500 Brook Trout did not make it-dead. All the Brown Trout did well. I will speculate that the issue was a water temp problem between the raceway, and water in the stocking truck. DNR loaded up the dead Brook Trout and went back to field station in Black River Falls...? Needless to say, the Manager of R&G along with DNR person were shit shocked. In 22 yrs,I have never seen this happen- very sad. The DNR person cares alot and must be feeling terrible. Not all fish and wildlife programs happen without an issue
