As many of you know, I spend quite a bit of time in Haiti. I love being there, and I reach out to the many veterans who are there either by choice or deportation. It is an emotional journey that many do not understand, or can understand. Anyway, it is my journey and I own it- love it. I say that to bring you attention, and a moment of silence for Capt. Andre Chery, a Vietnam Veteran who died in a hospital in Haiti because he no access to a dialysis machine . The family reached out to me through Facebook to contact the Ambassador in Haiti, and the State Dept. in the US. We could not help him in time, These are the challenges and bureaucracy HAVA faces as we to make a difference. We also have helped many - thank God. Please contact Margaret Chery on Facebook if your heart or conscience move to help them bury their father in Haiti. With their help HAVA will attempt to give him a proper military burial, as we have done for other veterans in Haiti. The family will guide donors as to where to send donations. HAVA is only sharing the information. Again, a moment of silence for a brother at arms. Peace.
