As many of you know, and as we predicted earlier in the day, Vice President Guy Scott is now fulling the presidents functions. We have always rejected the use of the title Acting President because it is unconstitutional. We believe such an office does not exist. What we have are ministers that can be directed by a sitting president or the Cabinet to perform some presidential functions in the absence of the Head of State. In this case Guy Scott is there largely ceremonially as the minister temporarily in charge of some presidential affairs. He cannot change government policy. He cannot hire or fire anyone. For this reason we have always maintained that Guy Scott can fulfil those limited functions even though he does not qualify to stand for president proper. This is because Guy Scott is NOT currently occupying the Office of the President proper. The big question now facing PF is straightforward : Who will PF field in elections? They must answer that question quickly!
