As many of you know (and many of you may not), Trisha has been - TopicsExpress

As many of you know (and many of you may not), Trisha has been fighting cervical cancer for the past five years. After multiple surgeries and several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, this past January we recognized we had exhausted all reasonable medical options and decided to suspend all treatments. While she is not at the end yet, that inevitable conclusion is approaching. Given this, we both feel it is time to make an announcement and get our friends and family up to date. For now, with Hospice’s help, she’s home, resting comfortably and we are managing her pain. We are all doing OK. The kids have been involved at every step and are fully aware of what this all means. While we know you want to express your support and love during this discouraging time, we’d like to make a request of you. Our intent is not to start some sort of online social discourse on religion, but we feel it’s important everyone understands our position on the topic: We are not people of religious faith. While you are free to privately react to our situation in any way you feel compelled, we continue to simply request that everyone respect our wishes and refrain from any public statements of prayer. This is a difficult period for our family, and we want to maintain as much privacy as possible. Your refraining from making public statements on Facebook, other social media platforms, and church-related prayer lists is appreciated. We welcome gestures of quiet support and wishes of strength for our family. We are grateful for your respect of this request.
