As many of you know my mom is a Breast Cancer Survivor, but only a few of you know that in March of this year she was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer. It has been a very upsetting time for our family, we lost my dad..Paul Imbrogno to lung cancer 30 years ago when he was just 62 years old. I have also lost many dear family members and beloved close friends and pets to this horrible disease. CANCER can attack at anytime. If you hear those words...you have cancer, you are entitled to cry, scream, yell...we did all of that. Then we Prayed, and told our family and friends, then they prayed and gave us love and support. We needed that. Do what you need to do to absorb the shock to your mind that you are going to have to fight for your life. That is what my mom did... at 87 years old she has been going through Chemo Therapy fighting for her life! This incredible strong woman that I am so fortunate to have in my life is such an inspiration to me. Thankfully many wonderful people in this world are working and researching ways to fight this horrible disease. In many cases like my moms they are...WINNING the Fight! Last week after many nervous months, we got the news that my mom had a NORMAL PET CT Scan! The Dr. told us, the tumors were resolved. RESOLVED!!! I wanted to cry and dance all at the same time, but I just Hugged her Doctor really tight instead. Mom and I were so relieved and excited we hugged and cried. Mom will be going through about 3 or 4 more rounds of Chemo as a precaution. They cant see anything but they want to be sure. You will see her at Roy Tweedys...she has been coming in through it all when she could. From the very beginning she told me.. Im not just going to sit around! LOL...Thats my Mom. It is that kind of thinking that got her through this. Thank You to Dr. Raymond Vivaqua and all the Wonderful Nurses and Staff at Crozer Regional Cancer Center for your Excellent Care and Support. Thank You to all our Family and friends for all your Thoughts, Prayers and Unending Love and Support. God Bless all our loved ones that did not win this fight for themselves but helped researchers and Doctors to find the right path to take for others. You are all Heros.
