As many of you know, on Thursday a family of eight in Rankin Inlet watched their house burn down. They lost everything! The community rallied around to help them with clothes and other items, and the family was extremely grateful. We received a request from one of their daughters that the family be put on our list to receive boxes of food and other things which we were of course happy to do. However, we did not want them to have to wait the three or four weeks for a box to get to them. Thanks to the generous people who have recently donated to our Paypal account, and with the kind assistance of Stephanie at Eskimo Point Lumber Supply in Arviat we were able to send out an immediate order of food and other necessary items to get them started and tide them over. This is what we are all about. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important project.
