As many of you may have heard, one of our clarinettists Sam Smith has recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer. To keep you all up to date on his situation he has given me permission to post on the ic4 Facebook page. Last week sam was diagnosed with testicular cancer and has since been through a surgical procedure that has been successful in clearing the cancer completely and he is now on holiday with his girlfriend Madeleine Hull and recovering well.......he has been informed that he will need to undergo a short course of chemotherapy but this is just a precautionary measure to make sure there are no future nasty surprises.....You will be pleased to know that he is in good spirits and intends to be back in work annoying everybody as soon as possibly. We would like to wish Sam and Madeline well during this difficult time. We are so happy that his recovery is going well and we can get him back working, sat behind a clarinet where he belongs very soon. I will keep you all updated as Sam continues to recover.
