As many of you may know, Matt and Maggie both attend Indiana University and are involved in the IU Dance Marathon (IUDM) for Rileys Childrens Hospital. Last year, IUDM raised more than 2 million dollars for Rileys Childrens Hospital. Matt serves on the Executive Committee and is the Executive Vice President External for the IUDM and Maggie is on the Recruitment team. We were finally able to get Maggie into Rileys and she had her first appointment two weeks ago to see Dr. Jackman, a pediactric neurologist. Since her appointment and change of meds, she has been nearly seizure free (knock on wood) and feeling better every day. After the last few months, this is truly a miracle in our eyes. Last night for the first time in months, she said, Mom, I feel like a normal kids again. I am not in pain and I am not having seizures. Tears flowed from both of us, but this time for good reasons :-). Below are the links for each of their fundraising pages.
