As most of you know cancer has played a huge part in our familys struggles. It is something we do not focus on, but were aware we must stay proactive for life. On last Thursday (October 2nd), Lilly had her 4th birthday in the most magical place on Earth....Disney World. We wanted to enjoy this celebration as a family with no stress, work, or worries so our 8 day vacation was all about her. As I opened FB to post pics & wish Lilly a happy b-day, my smile was replaced with tears that even the biggest sunglasses couldnt hide as we returned to Magic Kingdom to finish her special day. I didnt have it in me to post HAPPY birthday to my beautiful daughter knowing someone else had lost their own on the same day. We did not directly know Bree but B & her step-dad Sal are both auto painters & like so many from Ascension (& across the country).....her story was followed in our home. As we watched Lilly sleep the night before we could only sympathize with broken hearts as we read her moms post that the cancer had returned. We dont know what it feels like to watch our child suffer much less become an angel so young but with heavy hearts our prayers & condolences go out!!! With that said, Lilly was held tighter than ever the last few days of our trip to Disney & all the rain, sweat, crowds, lines, exhaustion, melt-downs, & even me getting severely sick was so worth it to see her beautiful smiling face. Happy Belated Bday Lilly Grace!! Today was the day you were supposed to arrive, but you came as I knew you would....when YOU were ready.
