As much as it pains me to write this.....Congratulations to the Bostn Red Sox.....and BoSox nation on being crowned 2013 World Series Champions. It is a title well deserved.....not only for a long/gruling season....but for a city that has had a lot of heart ache with what happened at the Boston Marathon back in March. Boston Strong is more than a phrase.....it became a rallying cry for the city....and the entire nation. For the St. Louis Cardinals.....they got to see this up close and personal. No excuses here....my Cardinals were out played in every game. My disappointment is not so much that they lost....(although its always tough when you lose) its how they lost. They physically flew to Boston....but mentally were still in St. Louis. They couldnt get the big hit when they needed it....and just couldnt get going through out the entire series. For everyone who doesnt see the Cardinals as much as I do (listening to their games via radio stream....and tv) my biggest regret is that people didnt get the chance to see how they can really play. The Cardinals in this series were not the Cardinals that led all of baseball with a .330 batting average with runners in scoring position. It was very frustrating to watch time/time again seeing hitters come up with runners in scoring position and not delivering......Cardinals hitters batted .194, and scored only 4 runs in last three WS games!!!!! Again....no excuses, just disappointment....as you never know when you can get back to the fall classic, and once there falling short of victory hurts. For the victors......may the champagne flow.....enjoy the win...which is becoming a habit in Boston.....3 championships in last 10 years. Hopefully, if the chance ever presents itself with the Cardinals/Red Sox squaring off again....the Cardinals will be the ones to celebrate.
