As my holiday gift to friends of TonyBrownsJournal and my Facebook Page, I invite you to read my latest blog (tonybrownsjournal/blog/tony-browns-holiday-gift) and watch FREE brief video clips from the Tony Brown’s Journal Video & Film collection of 1,000 historic and iconic titles that are streamed 24/7 at TonyBrownsJournal/video-clips. Those award-winning shows that are available for this holiday occasion include, but are not limited to, a wide variety of personalities and issues, such as: (1) “The Black Summit of 1972.” In 1972 an unprecedented gathering of the top Black leaders appeared in a live 90-minute special. Among the guests: Charles Diggs, Fannie Lou Hamer, Dorothy Height, Vernon Jordan, Albert Cleage, Jr., Dick Gregory, Imamu Baraka, Louis Farrakhan and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad (by phone) (https://youtube/watch?v=lmyM7CGhnZ4); (2) “The Roots of Music” and “The Music Tree” with Dr. Wyatt T. Walker, aide to Dr. Martin Luther King and university scholar. Dr. Walker musically demonstrates, with a 100-member choir, how Black Americans wrote their true history in musical notes and explains how Black music made American music; (3) “Slavery’s Biggest Secret” with journalist Anne Farrow, co-author of “Complicity: How the North Promoted, Prolonged, and Profited from Slavery,” exposes the role of the North in the growth of slavery and institutionalized racism (slavery) in America; (4) “The Tuskegee Airmen,” an action-filled 90-minute theatrical documentary by Tony Brown Productions, Inc., that tells the story of “How The Tuskegee Airmen Shot Jim Crow Out of the Skies.” A true WWII story starring the real heroes themselves: Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., Edward C. Gleed, Roscoe C. Brown, Jr., George “Spanky” Roberts, Lee Archer, Daniel “Chappie” James, Clarence “Lucky” Lester, Hannibal Cox, Wendell O. Pruitt, Charles B. Hall, Herman “Ace” Lawson, John L. Whitehead, Jr., etc.; (5) “The Destruction of Black Civilization” with Dr. Chancellor Williams; (6) “Has America Had 5 Black Presidents?” with Dr. JA Rogers; (7) “Racial Superiority” with Drs. Francis Cress Welsing and William Shockley; (8) “Has The Black Leadership Betrayed Its Community?” with Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour; (9) “King Heroin” starring George Kirby; (10) “Legends of Comedy” with Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx and Moms Mabley; (11) “Music Legends” with Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves and Chuck Jackson; (12) “What Hat Are You Wearing” with educator Dr. Joe Cornelius who has developed a creative way to tell history and motivate young people through drama. Dr. Cornelius creates a historical masterpiece when he chronicles the saga of Black America as it changes “hats” with the times and “Inside Brazil.” Also included is Tony Brown’s Journal filmic essay on Martin Luther King, in which I share my personal experience as the coordinator of the record-breaking “Walk To Freedom” in Detroit on June 23, 1963, the largest civil rights march in history. This documentary essay is a story of truth, vision, courage and transformation and my personal friendship with Dr. King. These are just a few clips from video treasures of the 40-year Tony Brown’s Journal collection that has been described by one archivist as “the most complete and thoughtful record of African-American opinion” in existence. My second gift to you is a FREE e-download of my Tony Brown’s Journal Video and Film Catalog, which contains a synopsis of the historic videos and film titles. It is also my opinion, as a university dean emeritus, that by subscribing to this historic and iconic collection, you can have the potential equivalent knowledge-fund of a university Ph. D. degree in Black Affairs and history. In the meantime, this knowledge-fund can be streamed to you 24/7 anywhere in the world an Internet connection is available. This educational and historic collection will enable you to defend yourself with knowledge and facts – not senseless violence – and lead humanity toward the Light. This is another opportunity to “Rise Up, You Mighty People.”
